Dr. M. Margaret King, DVM, Ph.D.
Dr. M. Margaret King is the
owner and Medical Director at Acre View Pet Hospital & Laser Center
of Edmond, Inc., Dr. King was born in Oklahoma City and has
lived her entire life in Oklahoma. She lived in Edmond in the late
60's when she was obtaining her B.S. in Education, Biology and
Physical Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. She
received her DVM from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and
practiced in Oklahoma City before coming to Edmond. Dr. King also
has a Ph.D. in Medical Physiology & Biophysics from the University
of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. King spent ten years caring
for research and laboratory animals at the Oklahoma Medical Research
Foundation. Prior to that, she did medical research there exploring
the relationships of dietary fats and antioxidants on breast cancer.
She did a tutelage with Dr. James Sprouse, to be able to maintain
the level of care he offers especially to the English Bulldog breed.
As a result she has found love for and special facilities to care
for the Bulldogs. Dr. King carries on Dr. Sprouse's interest in
English Bulldogs. She was honored as the Young Veterinarian of the
Year for Oklahoma by the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association in
2003 and received the coveted Outstanding Former Student Award from
the University of Central Oklahoma in 2003. Dr. King is very active
in assisting local humane organizations in Edmond. She speaks
frequently in the Edmond Schools and serves as a mentor for Edmond
high school students. She sponsors many homeless and injured animals
helping them find new homes.

Dr. Kelly Barger, DVM
Originally from Waretown, NJ (a small town on
the NJ shore), Dr. Barger came to Acre View in May of 2005. Her
educational background includes a BS in Biology (minor in Chemistry)
from the College of St. Elizabeth and DVM from the Oklahoma State
University College of Veterinary Medicine. When she is not working
hard at Acre View she enjoys showing and riding horses.
