Geriatric pets have special
needs. Most importantly, geriatric pets should have physical exams
every 6 months to identify abnormalities before they become a
problem. Pets over the age of seven should have geriatric bloodwork
done to screen for developing problems. Some breeds are predisposed
to heart disease and need electrocardiograms to screen for
the onset of heart disease. These screening tests enable us to
identify problems and begin treatment as soon as possible. The
doctors and staff of Acre View Pet Hospital understand that pets are
an important part of your family and strive to maintain a great
quality of life for aging pets! |
