Dr. M. Margaret King, Ph.D., DVM

Dr. Margaret King is the owner and Medical Director of Acre View Pet Hospital & Laser Center of Edmond, Inc.,  Dr. King was born in Oklahoma City and has lived her entire life in Oklahoma. She lived in Edmond in the late 60's when she was obtaining her B.S. in Education, Biology and Physical Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. She received her DVM from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and practiced in Oklahoma City before coming to Edmond. Dr. King also has a Ph.D. in Medical Physiology & Biophysics from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. King spent ten years caring for research and laboratory animals at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Prior to that, she did medical research there exploring the relationships of dietary fats and antioxidants on breast cancer. She earned an MBA from Oklahoma City University in 1984, and was the Outstanding MBA Student for 1984 for earning a 4.0 GPA. She was the director of Scientific Support Services for 10 years at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation prior to starting her DVM studies in Stillwater. She did a tutelage with Dr. James Sprouse, to be able to maintain the level of care he offered especially to the English Bulldog breed. As a result she has found love for and special facilities to care for the Bulldogs. Dr. King carries on Dr. Sprouse's interest in English Bulldogs. She was honored as the Young Veterinarian of the Year for Oklahoma by the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association in 2003 and received the coveted Outstanding Former Student Award from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2003. Dr. King is very active in assisting local humane organizations in Edmond. She speaks frequently in the Edmond Schools and serves as a mentor for Edmond high school students as well as for DVM students from Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She sponsors many homeless and injured animals helping them find new homes.

Originally from Waretown, NJ (a small town on the NJ shore), Dr. Barger came to Acre View in May of 2005. Her educational background includes a BS in Biology (minor in Chemistry) from the College of St. Elizabeth and DVM from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. When she is not working hard at Acre View she enjoys showing and riding her 2 horses, Flint and Blue. She and her husband Rusty have 3 dogs, Ripley, Floyd and Bob, and 4 cats, Ralphie, Clover, Alfie and Ernie.

Dr. Elaine Ross has been in practice over 20 years and has been with Acre View part time for more than 8 years. She lives with her husband, Phil and children Rachel and Sean. She has 3 dogs, Jake, Annie and Cloe and a parrot named Ollie.

Earl - Resident Advisor

Earl joined the Acre View team in November 2007. He is good at napping, keeping people in line and creating general mischief.  He walks around and makes sure everybody does their job, and does it right.  When he's not busy bossing people around, he enjoys playing with his toy mouse and stealing stray kibbles of food. Earl is a great cat, he is full of personality and is an integral part of the Acre View team.
